Today's Action: Day 6 Results!

Is Guido from Mars or something? Pluto? Hold on. First things first.

Game 1:

Chinchillaz (Mike B/Chuck) vs. The Chug-A-Lugs (Guido/Voss)

You may be wondering, "Hey. This tournament has been going on for a few days. Are people still interested in the games?" A decent question. I'll answer it like so: not only are they excited, but they're so excited that they're building equipment so they can cheer even louder than before! J Brown fashioned himself a homemade megaphone so he could chant, "Ch-u-u-u-u-u-u-uck D-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-uke!" at the top of his lungs. Interest isn't waning; it's escalating.

Amid the spectators' tomfoolery and shouts of "Toss it!" and the aforementioned Duke chant, there was some sweet-as pong on display. The inscrutable facade of The Chug-A-Lugs vs. the united animator front of Chinchillaz. Very close match. A preponderance of hotly contested points. The longest rallies we've seen. Lots of improbable returns, plus the most unbelievable shot to date. More on that in a moment. Like yesterday's first match, this game was tight the whole way. A point or two was all that separated the teams deep into it. Advantages were gained and lost through rock-solid play on both sides. Steady-Eddie pong punctuated by a lightning bolt of a slam from time to time. The Chug-A-Lugs finally gained an advantage towards the end and were receiving serve at game-point. Which brings us to that shot...

Chuck served to Voss, who left his return a little too soft, making for easy pickings. Mike B swooped and hit the ball hard and deep, catching the end of the table. The crowd relaxed for a second, thinking the point was over, but no! Guido retreated, turned his back to the table, threw his paddle hand out, and somehow flicked the ball backhanded over the net. I didn't get a good look, but I would almost swear that Guido either broke his wrist to make that shot or he's got a second secret wrist that nobody else has. The ball sailed high, but landed on the other side of the table. In! Pandemonium! The crowd absolutely flipped out. (It was discovered later that Jess' left eardrum exploded, adding to his injury list - he had the misfortune of sitting next to J Brown and his new amplification tool.) Chuck's return sailed long. Game!

G-Men are in the Firehouse now, giving Guido a full physical to determine his planet of origin.
