Today's Action: Day 4 Results!

Game 1:

Chunder Brigade (Joel/Gnatty) vs. Beaver Patrol (Jonny T/Dovi)

That was some weird pong.

Q: Was it a blowout?
A: Maybe, but the score doesn't really indicate that. The games from Day 1 were far more crushing defeats.

Q: Well, was it close?
A: Not so much, since at one point it was 15-3 or something.

Q: Was it boring?
A: Not at all. In fact there were some very tasty rallies highlighted by some strikingly good play. Hmm.

It was everyone's first game of the tournament, but Joel and Gnatty were the more nervous pair, it seemed. Jonny T was a bit intense, but that's him. He balances it by wearing flip-flops. Dovi was inscrutable, as always. The game opened with a flurry of points for Beaver Patrol. Gnatty's shots all went long and Joel's all hit the net. The crowd was silenced with disbelief. What was going on? The play seemed more or less equal. Nobody was doing anything terribly spectacular, but the scoreboard was tipped heavily towards Beaver Patrol. Chunder Brigade just had trouble getting its shots on the table. Joel and Gnatty finally settled into the game and rattled off a few points, sparking the crowd to make the universal sound for choking. Woo hoo! If the game was being played to 40, the Brigade might have had room for a comeback. As it was, there just wasn't enough time.
