Today's Action: Day 2 Results!

Apparently, today was the first day of the tournament. Folks actually came to play! Yay!

Game 1:

The Chug-A-Lugs (Guido/Voss) vs. Super-Happy Fun-Time Krew (DanC/Kirk)

Finally, some real pong action! Crazy super-good! As is often the case, everyone had a touch of nerves, even Brian, who nearly destroyed Centre Court with his inner ear difficulties! Look out! DanC geeked his first two serves and blew service, but shook it off like a pro. Points traded back and forth until we were knotted at 9! A tie at 9! That already surpassed yesterday's loser's high of 8 points and nothing had been decided here. Plenty more pong to go...or so it seemed. The Fun-Time Krew somehow lost its focus in the middle of a tournament game, or maybe it was just that Voss was ticking shot after shot off the very edge of the table. Unreal! We hadn't seen a display like that since The Great Shot Ticking Game of 2001! Pandemonium reigned at Centre Court. The fans couldn't be contained! Kirk, sensing his team's desperation, took a few shots in the you-know-what to try to swing momentum from the Chug-A-Lugs, but it was not to be. The deficit was too large. Guido finished off the match with a shot that even the new Pope couldn't have returned.
